Illegal alien convicted in cocaine case

MILFORD – A jury in Pike County court found Zouheir Saul Fakhouri, 43, was guilty of two counts each of the crimes of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility, all felonies.  The seven man, five woman jury found Fakhouri guilty after deliberating for three and one-half hours.

Fakhouri, a native of Morocco, is an undocumented alien.

Fakhouri, formerly of Saw Creek Estates, Lehman Towhnship, was charged by the Pennsylvania State Police in relation to two incidents which occurred in March of 2007 in the Saw Creek Community.  The case was one of many drug cases filed by the Pennsylvania State Police as part of a raid that was executed last August in Saw Creek.  The Defendant’s charges come as the result of two sales of cocaine during which Fakhouri obtained a total of $550.00.

Bruce DeSarro, the First Assistant District Attorney, who prosecuted the two day long trial, stated that the charges come as the result of undercover operations by the Pennsylvania State Police.  DeSarro praised the State Police in their efforts to fight drug related crimes in Pike County.  Fakhouri  has been held in the Pike County Correctional Facility since his arrest in August.  After the verdict, President Judge Joseph Kameen returned Fakhouri to the Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail.  Fakhouri’s sentencing is scheduled for September 24.
