Search for fugitive will continue

Mullin

Police helicopter puts down at the American
Legion, the main staging area for the search

DINGMAN TOWNSHIP – William Mullin, wanted in three states, remains at large this morning, but state police say they will continue the search for the man who was the object of a massive manhunt Tuesday night through much of Wednesday.

Mullin, a convicted felon on probation, began his adventure Tuesday night by stealing an SUV in Milford, then leading police on a chase through three states, at one point ramming a state police car in New York, before returning to Pike County.  He crashed the vehicle on Route 2001, then fled into the dense and rugged wooded area, where several law enforcement agencies, K9 teams and up to three helicopters were unable to flush him out.

The search, concentrated in the area between 2001 and Route 209, was called off mid-afternoon Wednesday.  State Police Cpl Brian Vennie told PoconoNews.Net earlier that they would reassess their search strategy if they had not found him by then.

State police will follow up on reported sightings and continue the search today.

Mullin, 25, whose criminal record includes felony drug offenses and multiple vehicle convictions, is described as white, about 5’6”, roughly 160 pounds, dark hair and was last seen wearing black pants and a yellow and gold shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 570-226-5718.
